'69 "Superb" Sport Camaro

The 1969 Camaro SS 350 engine makes 300 horsepower, 5hp more than the '68 model. The Super Sport option was a performance package that included upgraded suspension, higher performance engine, louvered SS hood, SS stripes and badging.

The RS option was an appearance package, it included hideaway headlights, backup lights under rear bumper and special exterior trim. A total of 37,773 Camaros were sold in 1969 with the RS option. The doors for the hideaway lights on the RS Camaros now had slits in them so that if the doors got stuck (which was a common problem in Northern America due to ice) some of the light would still come through.
